Exit tickets

Short exit tickets are helpful because they let you get a sense of how well your students did on the lesson goals very quickly so you can respond quickly.  My academic goals are usually to read and demonstrate understanding of a story, so exit tickets often are comprised of 5 comprehension questions I throw up on the board at the end of class. I can glance at these quickly to see if students demonstrated understanding and daily assessments give students many chances to show their proficiency.
