Since its inception, ‘Aamra’ has earned recognition from the Bengali press and from literary personalities for its noble objectives, the quality of its contents and the dedication of its Founding Editor, Anuradha Roy. A glowing review of its launching issue found a place in the weekly column ‘Kolkatar karhcha’ of 'Ananda Bazaar Patrika' in February 1986. Late Shanku Moharaj, Late Begum Sufia Kamal, Narayan Shanyal, and Ketaki Kushari Dyson are among the eminent writers who have since praised and endorsed ‘Aamra’ for its efforts and objectives. The international Bengali magazine ‘Pratichi’, published from New Delhi by Pramathanath Bishi Memorial Trust, printed in 2005 a review of Bengali magazines overseas, by Swapan Prasanna Ray. In this review, ‘Aamra’ received critical acclaim, especially for the quality of its contents. An interview-article of Anuradha Roy, chronicling her journey as Founding Editor of ‘Aamra’, was published in the California-based Bengali magazine ‘Porshi’ in May 2003. From time to time, ‘Aamra’ has also been featured on Bengali radio (‘Auhwan Betar’) and on television (‘Amantran’), broadcasted from Toronto, Canada.
