Science Board or Digital Slideshow
Project Description: Poster (tri-fold science boards are recommended but not mandatory) or box project about an animal disease, anatomy of a specific animal, nutrition for a specific animal, safe and healthy housing environment for a specific animal or any other educational display or exhibit pertaining to veterinary science.
Judging Criteria: Projects are judged on the information contained and how effectively/creatively that information is displayed. For the science board, you may use graphs, drawings, photos, etc. to create an appealing display. It should also contain written information which will be the basis for your speech next month. I have included some links below that will give some ideas about how to create an effective display or slide show.
Slideshow Specifics: You may use Google Slides, Power Point, or any other digital slideshow program. The length should be appropriate to accompany an oral presentation of 3 to 5 minutes for juniors and 5 to 8 minutes for seniors. I would recommend formulating a speech “rough draft” in order to think about how long your slideshow should be. However, at this point slideshows should be visual projects and speak for themselves without a voiceover component.

Pro Tips (From Experienced Members):
Find a Topic that Really Interests You: Rather than just trying to complete a science board and getting information to fill it, you should find a topic that interests you and really dig into it. Spend some time learning. Then the science board just becomes a way to show everyone what you have learned.
