Band Regalia Explained
380th Army Band Regalia
Description and Symbolism
All four pieces of regalia bear a representation of the 99th Regional Support Command insignias, recalling current unit affiliation. Dark blue is the color traditionally associated with the Adjutant General Corps, reflecting the organization under which bands are formed. The dogwood blossoms represent the state of Virginia, home of the 380th Army Band. The red and white portions of the tabard and drum allude to the official city flag of Richmond, VA where the Band trains and performs.
Baldric: On a dark blue field, the bottom portion scarlet, displaying the 99th Regional Support Command’s shoulder sleeve insignia below two white scrolls entwined with bunches of dogwood blossoms. The upper scroll bearing the inscription “380TH” in dark blue letters and the lower scroll inscribed “ARMY BAND” in dark blue letters. At the base of the baldric five slanted bands within a white field, implying the World War II campaign participation on the unit, in order NORTHERN FRANCE, RHINELAND, ARDENNES-ALSACE, CENTRAL EUROPE, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation for the EUROPEAN THEATER. All within a fringe border of silver.

Tabard: A dark blue field, in the lower portion two parallel scarlet bars both topped with a thinner white bar, representing the city of Richmond, VA, surmounted by the 99th Regional Support Command’s shoulder sleeve insignia.
