Absolute Risk
The risk (or probability) of some event occuring for an individual or in a fixed period.
Remember:
Absolute Risk is a probability.
(i.e) it is between 0 and 1
Relative Risk
Compares risk (probabilities) between two groups, or by receiving a certain treatment, etc.
Note:
Relative Risk is a ratio - this means it can be greater than 1.

Example:
Your risk of being hit by lightning during your lifetime could be 0.000004
Example:
You may be twice as likely to die in a car accident compared with dying in an accident at work.
