Group Presentation

The topics and questions extend textbook chapters. Presentation topics will be posted at least a week ahead on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students can send an email request to choose questions of interest or reserve the date for the presentation. The email request deadlines are 7:00 PM for Monday presentations and 7:00 PM for Wednesday presentations. Otherwise, the presentations will be assigned by the instructor. Check presentation assignments around 9:00 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. In preparing the presentation, students will need to answer their own questions but also work as a team.

Each group shall prepare slides and present within 15-20 minutes (3-4 mins per person with less than 8 slides), depending on the number of questions. Notice there will be no make-up presentation and it is the student's responsibility to inform the instructor of any change within 24 hours upon the confirmation email. Please submit the presentation slides at least one day before the presentation in order to receive feedback. See attached file for topics, dates, and guidelines.

Presentation group members will be notified via email about a week before the presentation date. The first draft of your presentation slides should be sent to the teaching staff at least one day before the presentation for feedback and comments. The final version of the slides shall be submitted within 3 days after the presentation for evaluation purposes.

When submitting your first draft and final draft of the presentation slides, please reply to the notification email (Subject: UN3265 Presentation Date) and attach the file. Double-check everything and send a single file (pdf is preferred). Avoid late submission and resubmission.

Pubic Debate

Student can send an email request (with the topic and stance) to participate in one of the two public debates. The first 22 students will be given priority. Team members need to know the debate structure, divide their work, and prepare slides to organize debate arguments. Please read general debate guideline and instructions carefully before your preparation. In preparing the slides, refer to the most relevant theory, empirical evidence, and policy outcomes. Evaluation is based on the preparation of slides and performance/response in the debate.

It is necessary to prepare debate slides to organize the statements/arguments/theoretical foundation/empirical support. Please submit them at least one week before the debate for timely feedback and comments.
