Welcome

It is a great pleasure to welcome you at The 4th Satellite Symposium in Pediatric Cardiology organized in collaboration with Open Medical Institute (OMI) under the auspices of The American Austrian Foundation (AAF). The AAF is a multilateral, international institution pursuing postgraduate education in medicine, media and the art. The OMI includes all AAF's medical programs such as Salzburg Medical Seminars, Medical Observerships, Satellite Symposia, and Visiting Professorships.

Following the success of three previous Satellite Symposia in 2009, 2012 and 2015, we have again the pleasure of having guest speakers from the Cardiac Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). For several years, CHOP is ranked among the US top three pediatric centers that deliver exceptionally high-quality care across multiple specialties. Pediatric Cardiac Center, Bratislava has a long-term cooperation with CHOP Cardiac Center through observerships of Slovak physicians and nurses at CHOP, transatlantic videoconferencing project and Clinical teaching and supervising of CHOP experts at Pediatric Cardiac Center, Bratislava.

The main symposium topics will be Pediatric Heart Failure, Single ventricle patients, Lymphatic disorders and interventions. The lectures will provide an overview of current and changing concepts in the care of children with cardiovascular problems. The program will offer the healthcare professionals the opportunity to discuss important topics in Pediatric Cardiology, and give opportunities for networking.
