Welcome to 1st Roborough Scout Group. We are a friendly and fun group of young people and adult leaders in Woolwell, on the northern edge of the City of Plymouth. We have our own superb headquarters, opened in 2006 and named Irene Peters Hall in memory of our founder

What we offer

We offer an exciting range of activities for boys and girls aged between 6 and 18 in a friendly and caring environment. Whilst there is frequently an emphasis on fun, we are not just a youth club. As part of the worldwide Scout Association we aim to widen our members' experience, equip them with practical skills and foster team building and co-operation

Scouting

Scouting is a modern and dynamic movement, with over 400,000 members in the UK and 28 million more in 216 countries around the world. Our founder, Robert Baden-Powell was recently voted the 13th most influential person of the 20th century. B-P said, "If it wasn't for adventure, life would be deadly dull". Recent research shows scouting to be a good foundation for adult life; 11 of the 12 men to have walked on the moon were former scouts. Jeremy Paxman said "I loved every single minute of it... The whole experience taught me to be resourceful, self-reliant and inventive"
