I became a member of Scouts Canada in 2007. I was asked to help out at the Group Committee level as the Group Treasurer and since then I have taken on many roles which have included Beaver Leader, Camp Nedooae Camp Chair (NS Council Camp) and I was a manager for the Canadian Jamboree 2017.
I am currently retired after serving 32 Years in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Marine Engineer.
Scouting has changed my life in so many ways and I think I have learned just as much as the youth have at times. I have discovered that we have some really awesome youth in our Scouting community, youth that are dedicated to the Scouting Movement and the community. We have been fortunate enough to see some youth start out at the Beaver Scout level and continue on well into their teenage years becoming Section Leaders. Thru Scouting I have meet some incredible people which have developed into personal friendships. I guess one could say that it is a way of life!
