FREDcast: Getting started with macroeconomic time series data

Choose one macroeconomic data analysis project of your interest. Follow the instructions carefully to download the data and answer the research questions. The deadline for the project is May 2 in class. Please turn in the hardcopy and email the digital copy in a single file (PDF version is preferred) to the bichen@barnard.edu and mjaimesb@barnard.edu

The email subject must be BC3033 RP#: Student Name. Once you email your project report, avoid any revision and resubmission. Please double-check everything and send me the final version.

The grade for each project depends on the effort, quality, and neatness of the final project report. I expect all research projects to follow requirements and document information. Answer the research questions in the report and provide the following information in the appendix: 1) a detailed explanation of applicable formula and calculation to each question; 2) a detailed explanation of the relevant spreadsheet functions and each argument you input; 3) print out all data and graphs for each question; 4) useful findings and comments regarding the questions. (Failing to meet these requirements will cost you several points.)
