Problem sets will be assigned roughly every two to three weeks. Students can discuss questions but must submit a hard copy of independent solutions. Assignment deadlines are firm. Recognizing that students may face unusual circumstances, one late assignment is allowed and will not be penalized. However, late assignments will not be accepted three days (72 hours) after the due date.

TA office hours

Teaching assistant will hold weekly office hours to help with in-class quizzes, problem sets, and exam preparation. For questions, students are strongly encouraged to come to office hours. If that is not possible, questions should be sent to the course staff. By having questions sent to all of us, you will get answers much more quickly. Please indicate email subject as BC1003.

Late submission policy

In case students request for late submission of assignments. Send the teaching staff, including the instructor and the TA an email with the subject "BC1003 late submission" at least one day before the due date. Students who request for late submission shall get an approval from the instructor. Within three days after the due date, please submit a hardcopy to the TA.

In-class quizzes

There will be extra credits for students who participate in in-class quizzes and provide the correct answer. For each question, students will receive one point credit. The student shall provide the instructor with a note on the date and question from which he/she receive the extra credit. A maximum of 5 points can be offered to each student. Due to limited questions in each quiz, the instructor will consider providing equal opportunity for each student as well as the voluntary participation principle.Â
