1.Respectful Behavior: Delegates are expected to behave respectfully towards each other, the chairs, and the conference staff. This includes using appropriate language and avoiding personal attacks.
2. Dress Code: Delegates are usually required to adhere to a formal dress code, such as business attire, to maintain a professional atmosphere. NO SNEAKERS.
3. Preparation: Delegates should come prepared with thorough research on their assigned country's position and policies on the topics being discussed. Every delegate participating in the conference is expected to come in with an opening statement and draft resolution.
4. Speaking Time: Delegates are given a specific amount of time to speak during moderated and unmoderated caucuses. Chairs enforce these time limits to ensure all delegates have an opportunity to express their views. Please do not go over the speaking time alotted to you.
5. No phones during the conference: Delegates are not allowed to use their phones during committee sessions as to prevent distractions, maintain focus and show respect to fellow delegates and chairs.
6. Country Placards: Delegates are assigned country placards to represent their respective nations. These placards are used to indicate when a delegate wishes to speak or make a point. Please leave your placards in the room on day 1 and do not tamper with them. You will be able to take your placards with you on day 2 after all resolutions are done.
