Forks School Community Survey
The Forks of Salmon Elementary School Board is soliciting input for possible uses of the Forks School facilities that can provide ongoing benefit to the community while the school is closed. Until such potential future time when Forks School can maintain a full and active campus with consistent enrollment and attendance, it seems beneficial for an active group(s) to inhabit it for purposes of system and facility upkeep as well as to foster community engagement with the space. Our intent is to have any non-school activities occur in a manner compatible with schooling if/when that becomes possible again. Priority would be given to school growth as it exceeds space allotted. Towards this end, at least one of the buildings could be reserved for educational activities only.
This survey is for information purposes only.
The deadline for submission of responses to this survey is April 4th. If you are completing a paper copy, please mail it to Forks of Salmon Elementary School, 15616 Salmon River Rd, Forks of Salmon, CA 96031 or turn it in to one of your school board members in person before that date.

NOTICE INVITING PROPOSALS FOR TRANSFER OF IMPROVEMENTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Governing Board (“Board”) of the Forks of Salmon Elementary School District (“District”) invites proposals from local community or civic organizations to transfer ownership of the historic Forks of Salmon School Building (“Improvements”). All interested entities are advised that the historic Forks of Salmon School is located on National Forest System lands under a special use permit/authorization and there is no guarantee that NFS will approve a new authorization.
On December 13, 2022 the Board, consistent with Education Code sections 17482 and 17545, voted to invite local nonprofit community or civic organizations to submit a proposal to transfer ownership of the historic Forks of Salmon School Building for the purpose of preserving and utilizing the Improvements for the benefit of the community.
Proposals must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
The District invites qualifying parties to submit their proposals via email to Superintendent Mike Matheson at mmatheson@siskiyoucoe.net.
