Professional relationships only – Staff and volunteers must maintain respectful, appropriate interactions with all students.
No favoritism or secrecy – Giving special treatment, meeting privately, or developing personal relationships with students is not allowed.
Technology use – Communication with students must happen through district-approved platforms and only for educational purposes.
Duty to report – Staff are required to report suspected boundary violations. Students and families are encouraged to speak up if they ever feel uncomfortable.
Training for safety – All employees and volunteers receive regular training on professional boundaries and child protection.
Consequences – Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, and may be referred to outside authorities.
