FLL Challenge Qualifier Tournament

REGISTER: Please add your child to the FIRST program name: "First Lego League Challenge" and provide TEAM NUMBER 23778 St. Ignatius School Cardinals at the www.firstinspires.org website and be sure to SIGN and ACCEPT the consent form on the website. See step-by-step instructions because it is not user-friendly. Without this, they will not be allowed to participate in the tournament on the 11th. Please do this ASAP. Note that they will ask you to choose which program to join. Be sure you choose "First Lego League Challenge" (read carefully)
RSVP: Please let me know if your child will not attend the tournament on the Group Me app calendar event. Each member will have a speech that is part of the whole presentation in each of the three judging categories and it will be hard for another member to take their part at the last minute. I understand unforeseen events occur but please try to let me know as soon as possible.
DRESS: They will wear their Robotics Team shirt and jeans with any closed-toe shoe. They are allowed to bring their phones but can't post anything on social media while we are the tournament. GUESTS: We are only allowed 1 guest or spectator per student which means 10 max. No charge to enter.
VOLUNTEER NEEDED: I need one of you to volunteer to stay with me for the whole tournament 7:30- about 12:15. The kids can't be left unattended and sometimes I need to be at a meeting or bring a child to another area.
LUNCH/FOOD: I will provide Cane's chicken strips, fries, bread and a drink for lunch. If you plan on staying for the whole tournament and would like to be included in the lunch count I'll be glad to do that. I will try to get them to deliver. If your child can't or will not eat Canes please send them with a bagged lunch or money to buy from concessions. Feel free to pack snacks also. We will bill FACTS account for their lunch. SCHEDULE: Drop off at 7:30. The schedule says it will end at 12:15 but they have never been on time. They will be participating in 4 judging activities but the only one in which spectators are allowed is the Robot Game which is when they run their pre-programmed robot on the table to try and complete challenges in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. They get three tries at the robot challenges. The first try is scheduled for 8:35, the next is at 9:55 and the last try is at 10:50. Official tentative schedule here.
