The Sioux Central National Honor Society is made up of individuals who meet the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, as put forth by the national organization. NHS chapters not only recognize students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.*
Students are invited to apply for membership during the spring semester. Student applications are reviewed by the teaching staff who then make a recommendation for admittance if they see the individual meets the standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Final admission decisions are made by the faculty counsel. To qualify for initial invitation, students must be a sophomore, junior, or senior and carry a 3.25 career GPA and. After acceptance, members must maintain this standard of academic excellence.
