  4. Bathroom/locker. There is a sign out sheet in the back of the room for which you will place your full name, where you are going, and time out. Please take the appropriate pass and when you return please sign in with the time. This is an independent task for which you can complete without the teacher's permission. If this privilege is abused you will lose your independent right.
  5. Office/guidance/nurse. There is a sign out sheet in the back of the room for which you will place your full name, where you are going, and time out. You will also fill out the same information on the “yellow” pass cards. When the card is filled out please bring this to your teacher to be signed.
  6. Be kind to yourself and each other. We are a team which will support each other to have the best 8th grade school year.
  7. Please clean up after yourself. If rulers, calculators, colored pencils, markers, or crayons were used, please return them to their appropriate locations.
  8. Everyone has a voice and that voice will be heard without judgement. We will be presenting often in class and some may need encouragement to speak in front of their peers.
  9. When one person is speaking (contributing to class discussions) that should be the only voice heard. Listening to your peers is a life skill that allows you to think more deeply.
  10. Per your student handbook you have two weeks to return work from an absence. A “0m” will be placed in the grading portal until the work is turned in within those two weeks.
  11. Late/missing work. Things happen, please communicate with my your intent to submit the work at a later date. (you can earn a maximum of 80% of the original grade)
  12. Any work that is collected and returned with comments can be re-submitted for full credit. Please resubmit work within two days of being returned.
  13. All lab equipment must be handled based on the teacher’s instruction. If you are found in violation of these instructions you will be removed from the lab. (see lab safety sheet for further information)
  14. Have fun, ask questions, and know that you are a Scientist!
