Checking Students Out

Any parent/guardian who comes to school to check a student out between 8:15 and 2:45 any day should simply park in the bus loop before coming in to get their student. Please DO NOT park in the handicap spaces in front of the school unless you have a handicap parking permit. Parking in a handicap spot without a permit is an automatic $250.00 fine and we don't want anyone to be cited. Thank you for your cooperation!

Parent Portal

If you aren't receiving live updates on Campus Parent Portal to see your child's grades and attendance, please download the app and log in with your username and password. If you need assistance, please email samantha.davidson@simpson.kyschools.us. This app will show you information on every child in your household in Simpson County.

If you and your child do not understand your child's grade, please contact the teacher. Most teachers are first.last@simpson.kyschools.us, but you can also find those emails in the Campus Parent Portal app.

Outside Food and Drinks:

A reminder to our families that while it is perfectly fine for students to bring their lunch to school from home; federal guidelines prohibit commercial food and drinks (McDonalds, Sonic, Subway, Pizza Hut, Frosty Freeze, etc...) from being brought into the school. We cannot accept deliveries (via parent/ guardian or from a delivery service) of commercial food or drinks for students and any orders that do come in must be sent back with the person who is making the delivery.

Student Drop off & Pick up:

Students who arrive or depart school as "car riders" should be dropped off and picked up at school via our car rider line on the "library side" of the building. Please do not drop your students off in the student parking lots or any other location other than this designated area. Only student vehicles should be in the student parking lots during the school day, including arrival and dismissal.

We appreciate your cooperation with this as it helps us make our campus more secure and safe for our students.

Transportation Changes or Alternative Pick-Up Person:

Parents and Guardians: All transportation changes or changes in person picking your student(s) up from school must be in writing. All bus notes need to be delivered to the front lobby office before 2:00 pm, and the note must contain the address where your student should be delivered. We are not permitted to take transportation changes or alternate persons picking your student up from school over the phone. All people picking up students must have and show a valid ID before we can release them. Thank you for your help with this!

SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

November 9 - ASVAB testing at Central Office Board Room at 9 am. Contact Coach Satterly or Mrs. Cassady (her office is in the main lobby to the right of the glass) for more info and to register.
November 15 - Cap & Gown orders due if you want to save money with the discount. If you can’t pay in full by this deadline, please call them at 827*/*16 to place your order and set up a payment plan.

Cap & Gown Orders

Graduation packets will be brought home for parents to view from the student meeting on September 21. There are many packages and things to buy if you would like, but the only thing required is the Cap & Gown Unit ($70 + $4.20 tax and $10ish service fee = $85ish when ordering online). This comes with a cap, gown, stole and a 2027 tassel even though they are not pictured. You do not have to add a keepsake tassel, apparel, or announcements unless you want to. All Cap & Gown units are shipped to the school, but other items ship to your house. There may be shipping on additional items ordered. Please order your cap & gown ASAP but no later than Nov. 30.

Project Graduation

Project Graduation is a free event offered to all FSHS Class of '27 graduates. It is a fun night of games, prizes, and entertainment held at the school the night of graduation from 10:30 pm until 5:00 am. This annual event is 100% community supported. Families of seniors have many opportunities to volunteer to raise money for this wonderful event for our students. Volunteers Needed

If you will be 18 by Nov. 3 and are interested in helping work the election this year, email shalee.mann@simpson.kyschools.us with your cell phone number. She will share your number and email with the county clerk's office and they will contact you. Pay will be based on hour worked. The time is between 6 am and 6 pm but could be done in shifts.

Students would be helping check in voters, pass out sample ballots, helping individuals get to and from the voting booths, along with other tasks.

SKYCTC Spring Online Courses

If you are interested in taking a SKYCTC online course in the spring, please look at the attachment. SKY will be here on 10/29 in the library to sign up interested students. FSHS JAG Class Sign Ups for T2 or T3

Any student who would like to take Mr. Marklin’s JAG class in trimester 2 or 3, can make a request by Oct 30th. JAG is a one trimester class that helps students with career interests and job attainment. Juniors and seniors will have priority scheduling for JAG.

Cross Age
- Students should still report to Cross Age Tutoring, but please communicate with your host teachers how this will affect your time there.

Vet Tech Information Session

Interested in becoming a Vet Tech?

Warren RECC Youth Tour

Warren RECC is sponsoring up to sixteen (16) high school juniors to represent their respective schools and our cooperative at the one-day Frankfort Youth Tour this spring. While in Frankfort, they will tour various state government offices and meet with Kentucky elected officials. From these attendees, up to eight (8) students will be selected to represent Warren RECC on an all expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in June. These students will travel with other Kentucky co-op sponsored youth and co-op employed chaperones to see our nation’s capital and tour sites such as Monticello, Capitol Hill, Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, U.S. Capitol Building, among others and visit with Kentucky's congressional delegation.

1. To be considered, the student must:

• have established an excellent academic record in high school;

• have been actively involved in extracurricular activities;

• have demonstrated leadership abilities through community activities; and

• have, in the view of school officials, the inclination to be a serious, enthusiastic, and well-

behaved youth tour participant.

2. Student must be enrolled as a junior in high school at time the application is made.

3. Nominee’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must be active Warren RECC member(s).

4. The nominee must be a first-time visitor to Washington, D.C.

5. To be considered for the Washington Youth Tour in June 2027, selected students will be required to

attend the Frankfort Youth tour in March 2027 and agree to abide by the terms and conditions as

specified by Warren RECC and the Kentucky Electric Cooperatives Association.

If you are interested and think you qualify, please see Mrs. Bills. Our school may nominate one boy and one girl for consideration. WRECC will pick 8 boys and 8 girls from across the state to participate. Deadline to see Mrs. Bills is Nov 15th.

Athletic Sport Passes

Season Passes for Football, Volleyball, Soccer, and All Sports can be purchased at the Simpson County Schools Central Office. Student Passes can be purchased at the high school with Coach Wilhite! Specific sport passes work for both HS and MS games for that sport.
