Any parent/guardian who comes to school to check a student out between 8:15 and 2:45 any day should simply park in the bus loop before coming in to get their student. Please DO NOT park in the handicap spaces in front of the school unless you have a handicap parking permit. Parking in a handicap spot without a permit is an automatic $250.00 fine and we don't want anyone to be cited. Thank you for your cooperation!
If you aren't receiving live updates on Campus Parent Portal to see your child's grades and attendance, please download the app and log in with your username and password. If you need assistance, please email samantha.davidson@simpson.kyschools.us. This app will show you information on every child in your household in Simpson County.
If you and your child do not understand your child's grade, please contact the teacher. Most teachers are first.last@simpson.kyschools.us, but you can also find those emails in the Campus Parent Portal app.
A reminder to our families that while it is perfectly fine for students to bring their lunch to school from home; federal guidelines prohibit commercial food and drinks (McDonalds, Sonic, Subway, Pizza Hut, Frosty Freeze, etc...) from being brought into the school. We cannot accept deliveries (via parent/ guardian or from a delivery service) of commercial food or drinks for students and any orders that do come in must be sent back with the person who is making the delivery.
Students who arrive or depart school as "car riders" should be dropped off and picked up at school via our car rider line on the "library side" of the building. Please do not drop your students off in the student parking lots or any other location other than this designated area. Only student vehicles should be in the student parking lots during the school day, including arrival and dismissal.
We appreciate your cooperation with this as it helps us make our campus more secure and safe for our students.
Parents and Guardians: All transportation changes or changes in person picking your student(s) up from school must be in writing. All bus notes need to be delivered to the front lobby office before 2:00 pm, and the note must contain the address where your student should be delivered. We are not permitted to take transportation changes or alternate persons picking your student up from school over the phone. All people picking up students must have and show a valid ID before we can release them. Thank you for your help with this!

Are you ready to get your Driver's Permit? Don't forget - the Commonwealth of Kentucky requires a "School Compliance Letter" that verifies the student is academically eligible to take their permit test. Parents must come by the school and see Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Davidson to obtain this letter.

SKYCTC Classes
CHECK SKY BLACKBOARD! For those enrolled, remember to reach out to your professor if you are struggling! FSHS does not have access to SKY gradebooks to know how you are doing. Parents, make your child show you their grade every week. The full spring academic calendar can be found here. For in-person classes, please take into consideration your spring break plans and other things that may affect getting dropped from the class due to absences.
Dual Credit State Scholarships for Spring
Any student enrolled in a dual credit spring course should log onto their KHEAA account to accept any remaining scholarships. If you're unsure what you have left, log in and it will tell you how many you have. Instructions are linked here. If you've used all scholarships and are enrolled in a WKU class, you will receive a bill you must pay. If you have scholarships, but do not log on to accept them, you will receive a bill you must pay. SKY classes have a local scholarship that covers them, but the number of students taking dual credit has increased, so we need you to apply those state scholarships to your remaining dual credit courses.
I really wish I could just go online and do this for all seniors, but the state will not let me. I do not have access to your KHEAA account. If you can't find your username/login, please click "Forgot username or password" and follow the steps. If you've followed the instructions and get stuck, or something doesn't look right on your account, reach out to me so I can help!
Senior Scholar
Senior scholar applications are not due until the spring, but wanted to remind you of the requirements in case you want to retake the ACT to raise your score. Click here to view the senior scholar application.
Letters of Recommendation and Resumes
Sometimes college applications or scholarships will require letters of recommendation. If you need a recommendation letter, you need to give the person you are asking at least 2 weeks notice AND provide them with a resume. If you need a recommendation from Mrs. Bills, please send her your resume. Your information should include any clubs/activities you have been involved in, any leadership roles you’ve had, AND what things you were responsible for while a member. The resume should also include any awards won, community service experience (with descriptions), any paid job experience (with descriptions) and your college major, goals for life after high school. Make it easy for me to brag on you! If you need help writing a resume, log into your Xello account.
