This year, Simi Valley Summer School will be in-person instruction for all grades. It will take place from
Tuesday, July 1 through Friday, July 25, 2025. There is no school on Friday, July 4.

Please note that Simi Valley Summer School is operated by Learn4Life and not the Simi Valley Unified School District. The Simi Valley Unified School District provides facilities and systems to help operate the summer school programs, and many Simi Valley Unified School District staff will work in the programs.
Simi Valley Summer School is available only to current and incoming 1st through 12th grade students. Students can enroll in summer school if they are not presently enrolled in SVUSD. Contact the principal for more information.
Summer School will be held as in-person instruction. There is no virtual instruction option. Students who are absent more than two days will be dropped from the summer school program. Please talk to your counselor about alternate programs if you are not able to meet this attendance requirement.
Middle School and High School:
Classes are viewable in Aeries.
Enrollment in Simi Valley Summer School is done through the Registration Google Form located on the Simi Valley Summer School website. Placement in high school summer school classes is verified by the student's SVUSD current school counselor. As the counselors verify the students' requests, the students are then placed into classes.
After enrollment has been verified and approved by the student's current school counselor, an email is sent to families for the second step in the enrollment, which is completing the Master Agreement from Learn4Life. The Master Agreement is not a registration form. It is Learn4Life's system to confirm that families agree to their policies and procedures. Courses selected on the Master Agreement should match the courses that were chosen on the Registration Google Form, the ones approved by the SVUSD counselor. Official enrollment is the completion of the Registration Google Form AND Master Agreement. If you have not filled out the Master Agreement, you will be asked to complete one before the start of classes.
Elementary School:
After completing the Registration Google Form you will be sent an email confirmation. After completing both the Registration Google Form and the Master Agreement, you will be officially registered. No counselor verification is needed for Elementary School Summer School.
Families must complete the Master Agreement document for participation in Learn4Life Summer School. This is how the student registers and receives credit through Learn4Life.
This agreement should be completed at the time of the summer school registration. It is a separate document from the registration form. If you have not completed this step and you are actually enrolled in summer school, please contact your summer school counselor or administrator.
Because of the compressed schedule, regular daily attendance is absolutely crucial to student success. Missing one day of summer school is similar to missing weeks of instruction during the regular year.
If a student does not go to class on July 1st, they will be considered absent, and they risk being dropped from the course(s) if they are absent 2 times during the summer. They also risk a drop/fail in the course(s), which will appear on their transcript as an "F" (high school only).
Simi Valley Summer School for High School students is intended for students who need to recover credit and skills from a previous year. There are also some courses available as go-ahead classes that students would normally take at their home school during the regular school year. Please contact your home school's counselor for more information on which courses those are.
Students can take either two (2) semester courses OR one (1) year-long course (10 credits) in High School Summer School. High School students can take a third class if it is for Athletics credit only.
It is assumed that all students will enroll in two periods, but students can enroll in one period if that is all they need for credit recovery.
A and B refer to the first (A) and second (B) semesters of a year-long course. If a student needs to recover credit for an entire year, they would need to take both the A and B offerings. For example, a year of Biology would be Biology A and Biology B. The same is true of English, Math, and History classes.

Teachers will individually coordinate with our library for class sets of books and other possible checkouts of curricular materials. This will be handled in class during the start of summer school. As these are SVUSD materials, damaged or lost books, laptops, and materials will be subject to the same charges as the normal school year. Some courses use consumable materials that are one-time use and can be taken after summer school ends by the student. Students should bring their district-assigned laptop to summer school as these will most likely be used in most summer school classes.
