"I've taken classes in four different foreign languages, including at one of the best language schools in this country. Mrs. Merry is by far the best foreign language teacher I've ever studied with. Some teachers give you a list of vocab words to memorize. Instead, she teaches you the phrases you are most likely to encounter in daily life and how to personalize your responses. She doesn't have you reading grammar exercises over and over from outdated textbooks. She personalizes the content in the class for her students by using common phrases, current events from the news, signs from around town, and literature. Even after just one semester, I can actually pick up any book and start reading in Spanish. I may not know all the words yet, but I can read it and use that practice to increase my vocabulary. Merry has the fluency of a native speaker, but also the understanding of what it's like to be a student. I cannot recommend this class highly enough. I learned more in my first semester with Merry, than in an entire year at another school." - Lee
