I have been involved in the Deaf community for over 12 years and involved in Deaf Education for 5 years and hope to continue adding to those years. I have an associate's degree in interpreting, a bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies and Art, and a master's degree in Deaf Education. Before becoming a teacher, I was a certified educational interpreter at the high school level. When I became a teacher for the Deaf, I continued at the high school level. Although my background is mostly at the high school level, I do have some experience at the elementary level and I look forward to gaining more experience with the younger children in hopes to set them up for success for the higher grade levels.
I have some great ideas to enhance the DHH program and provide services to your children. My plan is to provide services mostly in the classroom with minimal pull out. I want to encourage and add to what they are already learning in class as I think this makes for a more valuable learning experience. We can speak further individually if you’d like more details as to what that would look like for your child. Please see my contact page for my contact information.
