Orthography Consultant Competencies

Welcome to the Orthography Consultant Competencies website. On this website you will find a description of the orthography consultant competencies, plus ideas of resources and activities for developing your knowledge and skills in these areas. 

These resources complement the CBC Competency Manager tool used by SIL for managing and tracking the consultant development process. You can find out more about CBC here. 

The orthography consultant competencies are split into three broad categories: Orthography Core Competencies, Related Disciplines, and Technical & Practical Competencies. You can find out the requirements for each of these by clicking on  Competencies  in the menu at the top of the page. 

To find ideas of resources and activities for each competency, look under Resources in the menu at the top of the page.

In addition to these are General Consultant Core Competencies, which are common to all SIL domains. You can find more about the consultant core competencies here.
