What is the "Lessons from Scripture" curriculum series?
The Lessons from Scripture curriculum series was created to support people who are working with children - primarily in rural settings among populations who speak "minority languages."* These curricula are most often used in Sunday schools, but have also been used in neighborhood kids' clubs and even by families who want to introduce their children to the Bible in a way that both keeps them engaged and has long-lasting impact.
The series Lessons from Luke and Lessons from Acts each provide fifty two lessons which can conveniently be used over the fifty two weeks of a calendar year. Each of these series are divided into four sets of thirteen lessons. Lessons from Luke introduces students to Jesus' life and ministry through passages taken from Luke's gospel while Lessons from Acts follows the founding and expansion of the church.
Most lessons introduce a scriptural Truth that is derived from a passage of Scripture. The sixth and thirteenth lesson of every quarter is a review of the lessons that precede them. To learn more about the structure, click on the Lesson Structure link above.
