1. Read The Elements of Mentoring: 75 practices of master mentors by Johnson and Ridley and demonstrate that you know, understand, and can apply the concepts, best practices, and phases of the book to your mentor.
2. Read the Formal Mentoring Model by Steve Echerd and discuss it with your mentor. Demonstrate that you know and understand the main ideas and principles presented in the paper to your mentor.
3. Referring to your notes from the Formal Mentoring Model and The Elements of Mentoring as needed, present the formal mentoring model in your own words to someone who is not familiar with it, to the satisfaction of your mentor.
4. Read the Cross-Cultural Mentoring by Sunny Hong and discuss with your mentor the differences between individualistic and collectivistic cultures with respect to mentoring.
