Our group focuses on the development of new metal-organic framework (MOF) catalysts bearing pendant low-valent metal-phosphine complexes. By tuning the phosphine ligand design, we are able to leverage concepts from homogeneous organometallic chemistry in solid-state materials. We are targeting next-generation heterogeneous catalysts that display improved selectivity, recyclability, and/or activity for important organic transformations, including reactions that are performed on large industrial scales. Ultimately, improving the efficiency of these processes can be beneficial from both an economic and an environmental perspective.
