Suicide is the second leading cause of death in people aged 10 to 34. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can give you access to a wealth of information surrounding suicide, and counseling to those in need. The number is also available to students on the back on their student ID card, issued to everyone at the beginning of the year. Please, spread the number.

NCHS Clubs are student-led clubs that raise mental health awareness and reduce stigma on campus through peer led activities and education. Student Leaders will be empowered with toolkits, materials, templates and resources to make running the club a fun and educational process. Student Leaders attend training to learn about mental health and being advocates on campus. The Club is open to all students-those with mental health conditions, those with family members with a condition, or students who are interested in the field or in advocacy.

The NCHS Club program is in partnership with the California Department of Education (CDE) and the Placer County Office of Education (PCOE) as part of their Student Mental Health Program, funded by CalMHSA.

NCHS is a mental health awareness club for students and teachers on high school campuses. It is not a support or therapy group. NAMI California has worked diligently with CDE and PCOE to ensure that students and advisors will be instructed on how to run the club safely and responsibly, and will be required to always follow the rules and policies of their school district. A full day of training for Advisors and student leaders will educate the Clubs about mental health, raising awareness, running a club, being supportive of others, and recognizing early signs of mental health conditions.

Teen Line is a confidential hotline for teenagers which operates every evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm PST. If you have a problem or just want to talk with another teen who understands, then this is the right place for you! The Teen Line volunteers who answer the calls, emails and texts are Southern California teenagers who have received specialized training. They won’t judge you or give advice – their job is to listen to your feelings and help you to clarify your concerns, define the options available to you, and help you make positive decisions.

No problem is too small, too large, or too shocking for the Teen Line volunteers. Issues that teenagers are dealing with include abuse, depression, divorce, bullying, anxiety, gangs, gender identity, homelessness, pregnancy, relationships, sexuality, violence, substance abuse, self harm, and suicide.

All 4 Youth is a partnership program between The Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health and Fresno County Superintendent of Schools for children and youth ages 0-22 years old experiencing difficulties that affect them at school and at home.

All 4 Youth is designed to enable youth and their families to access behavioral health services at school, in the community or in the home. The goal of All 4 Youth is to remove barriers and increase access to a positive healthy environment in which to live and learn.
