Depending on the journal, the Acknowledgements/Notes section can appear in a few locations. It can appear before the start of an article or after the conclusion. It can also appear in the first footnote or endnote or, it may not be with the article itself, but rather located in the contributors section of the journal. Not all journals include an acknowledgements or notes section.
What will you find here? It varies. But, it may include information about the author. It may be a note from the author acknowledging the help or contributions of others, for example, colleagues who read drafts, or funding institutions who provided grants for conducting research or time to write. So what does that tell you? Well, perhaps a bit about the research process, sources, or networks of the author.
