Play nice. The Smithsonian reserves the right to disqualify anyone whose conduct disrupts the event, the hunt’s normal operations, or threatens the safety or security of the museum and/or its visitors. For example, no running, shoving, or pushing. The Smithsonian also may disqualify any team whose submission is off topic (for example, submissions that are partisan, promotional, vulgar, hazardous, or threatening in any regard). Security also may be called.
The Smithsonian will not be awarding prizes for this contest.
The Smithsonian will score team submissions and select the winning teams based on eligibility and final score. In the event of a tie, the Smithsonian will not conduct a tie breaker.
The Smithsonian will score all team submissions for accuracy and completeness; additionally, if the prompt requires submission of a photo, video, or other content, the Smithsonian can award bonus points based on the submission’s aesthetic quality (for example, the appropriate subject of the submitted image is in focus, and the image is well composed), as well as the submission’s creativity/originality (for example, the submission may be humorous, make meaningful connections, evoke an emotional response, or demonstrate interest and understanding).
The Smithsonian will score submissions during the event, and will notify winners via the Goosechase App.
You understand that the Smithsonian may modify these rules, or cancel any hunt, in its sole discretion, at any time, and for any reason. The Smithsonian is not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond its control. Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. In the event of a dispute, the Smithsonian reserves the right not to award any prize.
The Smithsonian will not publicly announce the winners.
