Who was Michael Collins?
Michael Collins was one of the three astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission. While Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin experienced the lunar surface, Collins stayed on the Columbia command module and orbited the Moon. Prior to joining NASA, he was a navy test pilot. After his time in NASA, during which he was also the third American to walk in space, he became the Director of the National Air and Space Museum.
