This workshop focuses on the partnership between SEL work and the Goals and Criteria. We will present our Stone Ridge programs of Primes (Lower School) and their continuation through the One Heart Program (Middle School). Participants will learn about best practices in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in grades K-8 and how facilitating a school-wide program fosters a commitment to whole-child wellness and a deeper understanding of the value and life of the Goals of Sacred Heart Education. Fostering student-adult relationships through these programs promotes protective factors for our students' mental health and wellness.
We will explore the benefits (school climate, wellness, building of community) and empower participants to consider how they might implement or reimagine a similar program in their schools.
Participants will learn about the Primes and the One Heart Program and what these programs promote in the school community. Participants will understand the developmental need for SEL programming that is rooted in the Mission and Goals of Sacred Heart Education. Participants will build Network connections to support the work being done in each of their respective school communities.
