These are some of the rules that every student must follow while they are in my classroom.
Be polite. This means not raising a voice at another, not speaking over anybody in the room, and not using any rude language in class. We have a zero-tolerance for bullying in this classroom; if bullying is ever suspected, there will be a thorough investigation and follow through.
Be punctual. If students are 10 minutes late to class, this will be counted as an unexcused absence and will hurt their participation grade.
Be prepared. Students are expected to come to class each day with their Chromebooks charged, a pen or pencil, a notebook, and a folder.
Be supportive of one another. From the moment we became a class, we also became a team that works together. Be supportive of your peers with their academic and personal efforts.
Be respectful of others AND yourself. We can do this by listening to others, not interrupting when others are talking, and paying attention to whomever is speaking. Also, recognize that your voice deserves to be heard in the classroom!
Submit your work in a timely manner. Late assignments, unless from an excused tardy or absence, will not be accepted. If there is ever anything that may make completing an assignment difficult, reach out to me before an assignment is due and we can negotiate the due date. However, this conversation cannot take place AFTER an assignment is due.
Ask for help! There is nothing wrong with asking for help when you need it, we cannot make it through this life without the help of others!
Follow all Walt Whitman rules! Look over the Student Handbook and follow school policy.
