Middle School is so much fun to teach. I love the energy. I love the enthusiasm. I love watching the "lightbulb" go off when a student "gets it." I wouldn't want any other job in the world. I even wrote "music teacher" as my future career in my sixth grade yearbook.
I am starting year THIRTY ONE of being a music teacher. WOW!!! I have been at Stimson for 27 of those years. While I teach orchestra now, I have also taught chorus. I majored in piano and love to sing. I have been in a professional jazz combo and did a LOT of theater before I had children.
When I'm not at school, I hang out with my husband and my two sons. One son has a job at MLB in Manhattaon and is a graduate of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. My other son is in 11th Grade, plays the trombone and is on the Golf and Tennis teams. He hopes to be an architect some day.
My family and I love to exercise, play games, travel, shop, golf and play with our six-year-old Golden Retriever, Barkley.
