This is New York State Law, not South Huntington School District's rule.
· Special Education Service Requests must be submitted by June 1, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Special education service requests for religious and independent schools are formal requests made by parents of students with disabilities who are enrolled in private or religious schools. The request ensures the student is evaluated for special education services. If the student is found eligible, the public school district must provide appropriate special education services, even though the child is attending a religious and independent school. Any classified student who has applied, intends to apply, or has been waitlisted to St. Anthony’s needs to complete the forms below by June 1st. If you are accepted after June 1st but have not submitted the paperwork below prior to June 1st, you will not have an active IEP/IESP for the 26/27 school year and no services/accommodations will be considered for the student. There are no exceptions to this rule.
