Hello, families!My name is Mrs. Kipling, and I am so excited to work with Oakwood's young readers. Oakwood is a truly special place, and I am very lucky to be part of this wonderful school community. I have been teaching for 21 years. I taught kindergarten and second grade in New York City for nine years, followed by six years as a reading teacher in another Long Island school district. This is my sixth year teaching reading at Oakwood.When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. We love to go to the beach, read books and visit new places.
Our time in the reading room will be filled with memorable learning, growing confidence and lots of reading fun! I look forward to partnering with you to help your child become a strong and enthusiastic reader.
One of the best ways to support your child is to read together every day, even for just a few minutes. This helps children build strong reading habits while creating special memories together.
