There are 8 periods in a day and each period is 45 minutes. The program consists of:
1. Math (15:1:1, Integrated Co-Teaching, Regents & Honors)
2. Social Studies (15:1:1, Integrated Co-Teaching & Regents)
3. Science (15:1:1, Integrated Co-Teaching & Regents)
4. English (15:1:1, Integrated Co-Teaching, Regents & Honors)
5. Skills or Literacy or Math/Literacy or Resource Room
6. Chorus, Band, Audio Music, or Orchestra (every other day) ROTATES WITH Physical Education (every other day)
7. Lunch/Recess
8. Wheel: 1/4 year: the wheel course consists of four different subjects areas. Each subject is ten weeks long. They are:
· Home and Careers
· Art
· World Language- French, Italian, Spanish
· Coding
**during the first semester wheel, internet safety is explored using EverFi
Current Special Education Programs, Grade 6:
· Resource Room – meets everyday. The teacher pre-teaches, remediates areas of deficit, reviews content material, provides organizational assistance, and addresses specific IEP goals.
· Integrated co-teaching- a push-in program in which a Special education teacher and general education teacher co-teach daily. This is provided, as needed, in: math, English, science, and social studies. Teacher provides small and whole group instruction utilizing a co-teaching model emphasizing differentiated instruction.
· 15:1:1 Class- a 15:1:1, self-contained class room. It consists of a special education teacher and paraprofessional for math, English, science and social studies, as needed.
· Related Services: A pull-out or push-in program for students who need:
· Speech/Language Therapy
· Occupational Therapy
· Physical Therapy
· Visual Impairment Services
· Counseling as a Related Service
· Teacher of the Deaf
· Behavioral Consultant
