Dear Student,
Welcome you to fourth grade Dual Language! I am very happy to have you as my student, and know we will have an exciting and memorable year together.
In fourth grade, you will be learning about all sorts of things. Things like electricity and magnets, Long Island and New York, and also continue to learn about how the writing process works. In fact, we will be writing some great pieces together! In Math, you will be learning two-digit multiplication and division. (Be sure to practice your addition, subtraction and multiplication facts over the summer so you have them memorized for September!) All of this learning will be done both in English and Spanish! In addition to all of that, you will be completing many great projects.
This year you will be taking responsibility for yourself and your learning. You will learn how to use several online platforms like Google Suites and Classlink along with many online websites such as I-Ready, and Readworks. I will also be teaching you how to organize yourself, good ways to study and how to use your time constructively. Developing great study habits and budgeting your time will help you become more a more confident, successful student.
Please find a list of the supplies that you will need for our class this year, on this site as well. Please bring these items by the first week of school. Estimado estudiante:
Me gustaría darte la bienvenida a la Clase de Dos Idiomas, de cuarto grado. Estoy muy contenta de tenerte como mi estudiante y se que tendremos un año emocionante y memorable juntos.
En cuarto grado,aprenderás sobre muchas cosas, como la electricidad e imanes, Long Island y Nueva York. También continuarás aprendiendo sobre cómo funciona el proceso de escritura. De hecho, estaremos escribiendo cosas geniales juntos! En matemáticas, aprenderás multiplicación y división de dos dígitos. (¡Asegúrate de practicar tus sumas, restas y multiplicaciones durante el verano para que las memorices para septiembre!) Todo este aprendizaje será en inglés y en español. Además de todo eso, estarás completando muchos proyectos geniales.
Este año aprenderás a asumir responsabilidad de ti mismo y de tu aprendizaje. Aprenderás a utilizar varios recursos digitales, como Google Suites y Classlink junto con muchos sitios web como I-Ready y Readworks. También te enseñaré cómo organizarte, buenas formas de estudiar y cómo usar tu tiempo de manera constructiva. Desarrollar buenos hábitos de estudio y organizar tu tiempo te ayudará a tener más confianza y éxito en la escuela.
