Life Skills Vocational Transition Program

**All students should know what is expected of them. Here are the rules and requirements you are expected to follow.**
In the Life Skills Vocational Transition Program, students will practice and develop skills that are necessary in real life. Students will be focusing on functional and community based vocabulary pertaining to everyday life in order to be most successful. This course is designed to be a collaborative journey, focusing on equipping your student with the essential skills they will need to live an independent, confident, and successful life after high school. Our philosophy is simple: we believe that real-world skills are best learned through hands-on, practical application. Throughout the year, we will be using traditional academic subjects like ELA, math, science, and social studies not as isolated topics, but as tools to help us navigate the world. We will focus on building crucial communication and self-advocacy skills. The students will learn how to identify their personal strengths and needs, and practice communicating them effectively to both peers and adults. We will also work on essential collaboration skills, as students learn to work together, share responsibilities, and solve problems as a team.. As always, we will be addressing individual IEP reading goals.

II. What is expected of you:
Respectful Behavior- If you want to gain respect from peers, you need to give it.
Good Attendance and Promptness- Be in school everyday unless you are sick. It is important to be on time to each class.
Be Prepared- Please bring all needed supplies to class. No going to lockers for forgotten items.
Be Kind and Considerate to Everyone: Do not talk when someone else is speaking. We learn from each other. Raise your hand if you have a question or something to share.
III. Grades: This is a PASS or FAIL class. No numerical grades will be given.
