National English Honor Society Eligibility: 

Membership in NEHS is by invitation, extended through a local chapter on behalf of the national organization. 

Walt Whitman's chapter name is,  Daily Hieroglyphics. 

Membership in NEHS is an honor bestowed on individuals selected for their accomplishments in the field of English and in overall academic achievement.

The NEHS Constitution sets forth as minimum requirements for active membership the following:

(If special circumstances merit, the Faculty Advisory Council may waive the semester regulation)…Here at WWHS we are eligible 10-12 Grades.

Regents Courses Final Grade X 1.04= Weighted Grade 

Honors Final Grade X 1.07= Weighted Grade 

Advanced Placement Courses Final Grade X 1.15= Weighted Grade  


Step I. Grab a submission form  from Pip in 633/ or your English  teacher.

Step II. Complete form in simple and  clear print. DO NOT complete the optional writing sample portion. 

Step III. Attach  $15.00 cash. 

Step IV. DO NOT use an envelope.

Step V.  Submit to Pip in Room 633.
