Walt Whitman High School Internship Program
Walt Whitman High School is proud to provide an internship program for students who are interested in a specific career to obtain an on-site, non-paid career exploration experience. This program allows students to observe and/or work with a mentor to gain knowledge about each profession. These internships are available to juniors and seniors and run in partnership with Western Suffolk BOCES/Wilson Tech.

Students who successfully complete 54 internship hours will receive one 1/2 credit on their high school transcript.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Students interested in pursuing an internship must meet the following requirements:
Interns must be in good academic standing, have good attendance and a clean discipline record. Excessive absences may result in removal from the internship program.
All prospective interns must be interviewed by the Internship Coordinator before they are accepted into the program.
Transportation must be provided by the intern.
All prospective interns are required to complete a Wilson Tech application and meet any other requirements stipulated by the internship site.
Interns are required to submit timesheets in a timely fashion.
