Dear Parents,
Hello! I hope you are all enjoying the last few days of summer. The school year is just around the corner. I would like to welcome you and your child to first grade. I am committed to doing my best to provide your child with a smooth transition into first grade.
The early beginning of first grade will be a basic review of many skills your child learned in Kindergarten. The children will be adjusting to the routines of the class, getting acclimated to the classroom and getting to know their new classmates and teacher!
Before the start of the school year, I would like to briefly mention some of the procedures of the class. Please send your child to school with a snack and a water bottle every day. The blue folder from the supply list will be designated a “take home” folder. This folder will contain any worksheets that should be done for homework. Please put the completed homework inside the folder. It will also contain any school notices or notices from me. I will check these folders on a daily basis. If you need to send me any notes, please put them in the folder and I will be sure to get them. Please empty the contents of the folder every day.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. I anticipate a year filled with fun and lots of learning! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Together we can make this year fantastic!
