Then, click on your state. You will be able to watch a video on your state and read a book about our state filled with lots of useful information!


1. 50 States

Click on your state, and scroll through the alphabetical listing of information.

2. State Symbols

Includes so many choices (ex. tree, flower, bird, nicknames, etc..) Click on "State Symbols". Great photos and illustrations.

3. National Park Service

On the right side, under "Find a Park", click and choose your state. Scroll past the map to the listings of parks, monuments, memorials, sites, etc.. If your state has no National Park, or National Historic Park, let your teacher know and ask if you can choose a state park.

* Be careful, National Sites and Monuments are usually very limited in what they offer, so completing the requirements is difficult.

* Do not choose a National Park that is shared with several states.

4. Official State Websites

To get your state's official website just Google your state name adding .gov then click on the result that lists your Official State Website.

5. Amusement / Theme Park, Water Park, or Zoo

Click "Directory of Theme Parks, Amusement Parks, Water Parks & Zoos".

Click "USA", then choose your state from the list.

**Hint: remember to scroll through the whole page and look for all three lists. There may be a commercial stuck in between the different lists.

6. Recipes and Food

This 2nd website will only work from home. It lists a well-known food item from each state. Just scroll down to yours.

7. Buildings for the Travel Guide

This website is extremely helpful when you are required to create a skyline of important buildings in a major city from your state. Once you have the site up (be patient, there is a great deal of information/pictures to load) click on "Buildings", scroll down to "North America", scroll to "USA", scroll down and under "States of the USA" click yours. Next, choose a city, then choose some buildings from tallest buildings. Your choices do not actually have to be next to each other. Have fun creating your skyline.
