Important News regarding Rudolph and Seussical Auditions & Callbacks:

A message from Dr. Blaisdell and Ms. Holmes

Good Morning,

Thank you everyone who auditioned!  You are all so very talented, that you made the task of casting very difficult for us.  We will list the callbacks for tomorrow below. 

However, a number of issues have arisen that you need to know about.  

We have NOT been granted a license from MTI International to perform Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer this year. We have not been given any clear explanation for this.  And, this has never happened to us before in the 20 years we have been doing Drama Club.   As a result, we can either appeal the decision which Dr. B has been told it will take 4-5 weeks, or we can choose another show. Waiting 5 weeks will leave us with 4 weeks to mount the production.  Ms. Holmes and Dr. B feel that we all need more than 4 weeks to do the wonderful job we know you will do.  Dr.B is still making calls about Rudolph and he expects to have a definitive answer by next week at the latest, but if this is unproductive our plan is to mount a different seasonal show.  Our current thought is to mount a new production of A Christmas Carol to be staged at the High School and with new sets, songs, and a modified script that does not require licensing as it is in the public domain (script by Dr. B from the short story by Charles Dickens).  This will not require any additional auditioning.

In the meantime, we would like to hear a few people in callbacks to help us with our decisions about our Seussical Jr. cast.  Remember, callbacks are just that.  Callbacks.  They do not mean you have a major role nor do they mean that you are NOT being chosen for a major role. They just mean we need to hear you again.  Please confirm with Ms. Holmes at lunch that you can (and let us know if you can not) attend.  She will also be at all three lunches for any questions or concerns.  We will be in the cafeteria FRIDAY 2:30-4pm.  The names of those we would like to hear again, in alphabetical order are:
