Have you ever wondered what is really in the basement? Well today's the day you get to know! We interviewed about 7 people to ask them what they think is in the basement! First think to yourself, what do you think is in the basement??
Alex (5th grader) thinks… "I think there’s a prison, or something from world war 1 down there."
Sundari (6th grader) thinks… "I think there’s a head that moves…"
Jonah (6th grader) thinks… "I think there’s old school supplies and milestones stuff."
Betsy (5th grader) thinks… "I think it’s like a normal basement, but I’ve heard rumors that there are jail cells down there!”
Inaki (6th grader) thinks… "It's a 'normal' basement!"
Ben (4th grader) thinks... "There is possibly ghosts and cleaning supplies."
Juliana (3rd grader) thinks… “There are underground cells for bad kids."
Now, for what’s actually in the basement!!
We took a look and we saw….
A bunch of cool, different and old things. Some of the things that we saw were an old rocking chair, hand puppets and tons of old furniture, like desks, play sets for younger kids and a lot of old toys.
There were also many locked doors that we couldn't get into, along with many small crawl spaces.
In the west basement there were many old toys and furniture like we talked about before. And in the east basement, there were classrooms. But along with that there were a lot of storage rooms and the boiler room which we thought was the coolest thing we saw. In the boiler room it was very hot and the boiler room was how the whole school got heated.
So, no, there are no cells for naughty kids but there were many cool things. We also took many pictures and you can find them on the Beagle Times website.
Maybe next time we can investigate the attic or possibly another part of the school!
