Safety Drills

What do people think about Safety drills, more specifically tornado drills? Tornado drills are drills that we do one or two times a year. Everyone goes into the hallway, near their classroom, and sits in rows and covers their head while in their lap.

Pros

• You learn what would happen if it actually happened.

• That’s it

Cons

• It takes along time for everyone to get situated

• It’s uncomfortable

• Nobody listens

• You can’t talk, which doesn’t make sense because it’s a tornado drill?!

• Everyone is so close together

Now we will interview people!

Kingston: They should do it 3 times in the school year and think it's nice. Also I think it’s good to learn it.

Evan thinks they are necessary but she feels like they could be better. She thinks we should go to the basement instead of just putting our hands over our heads.

Spencer: They're long.

Nora: They're fine, but it’s also really crowded and no one really likes that.

Lili likes them but thinks they can be uncomfortable at times!

Matteo thinks that it really hurts when you bend down. He thinks that there shouldn’t be much noise.
