Lake Bluff Mysteries

Welcome to Lake Bluff, fellow detectives! School has just begun, and whether you’re new to Lake Bluff or you’ve been here for a full mystifying decade, there’s gotta be something you’ve always been wondering about… some question that hasn’t been answered yet, some mystery to unravel.

Last year, I, super-cool-detective, wrote The Mystery of the Fire Alarm. This year, I plan to go a bit broader with my discoveries. This year, I, the very-cool-super-awesome detective, am going to search for the questions and hopefully the answers on every single inch of our school. So, without further ado, let’s get to it!

First off, the cafeteria. If you’ve joined Lake Bluff after covid, you probably think it’s just a cafeteria. But it isn’t! *Cue dramatic music* It used to serve as a theater for performances! Crazy, right? And as a place for milestones! And, wayyyy before that… a gym!!! That’s why the floor has lines on it, THAT’s why there’s basketball hoops.

Next is the wooden beagle. Haven’t you ever wondered how it sits so still? I personally found it fascinating. Whether you pinch, poke, push, prob, prick, or plunge it (and I don’t recommend doing any of those things, you’ll get in huge trouble for it) it stays still. So, I asked its grandfather, a piece of pocket lint I found in my jacket the other day. Bill (for that was his name) seemed as concerned as I felt. “Why, I don’t know… you’d better ask him yourself!” he said. So I did.

“Why are you standing so still?” I asked the beagle.

The beagle stared at me blankly.

“Why are you being so quiet?”

No response.

“Please respond.”

Still nothing.

“With a really red cherry on top?”...

“ANSWER ME NOW OR ELSE…!!!?!!”

““帮 助 我 善 良 的 先 生?”

“Ɑo ʎon ʞuoʍ ʇɥǝ ndsᴉpǝ poʍu lɐuƃnɐƃǝ?”

“?sdrawkcab tuoba woH”

The conversation went on for a long time after that. I never found out the answer. Maybe you could help me figure this one out? Perhaps you’ll have more luck...
