Flood!!
by Nora
On Wednesday, January 26th, 8:20AM, MAC 3 Birch students walked by and saw water in the library. But when did the flood actually happen? Nobody really knows, but I know Mrs. Rasco heard about it at 7:05 am. She called people immediately, they all got there at around 7:25am. When they arrived they turned off the water, and figured out what caused it.
Turns out it was the radiator. On a cold day, the water froze, then expanded. That caused the pipe to burst. They had to salvage what they could, and threw away what they couldn't. They also checked other radiators, to make sure other places wouldn't flood too. No books were damaged.
Reactions
Different people reacted differently. Some were shocked, some were concerned, some were in disbelief. Some were… humored? Here are some words from the students. “The first thing I did was go look to see if it was actually flooded, or if it was a prank,” said Defne. "Omg so many books are gonna be ruined," said Sophia. “I thought it was surprising because it's something our school has never experienced," said Pira. “When I saw the custodians from all the different schools, I knew it was bad,” said Mrs. Knight, the school librarian.
