Getting your period kinda sucks so getting your period at school can be really uncomfortable and annoying. Menstruation is a natural process and many people are very self conscious about it. Some people think they are weird because they haven't gotten their period and some people think they are weird because they have already gotten theirs, but really you could be as young as nine or as old as 16. This means no matter when you get your period you are perfect and there is nothing wrong with you.
One thing that is a struggle is handling your period at school. Thankfully our school has many adults who can help and make sure you are ok! If you think you might get your period soon, talk to a guardian about maybe buying pads, period underwear, tampons or any other period products to put in your backpack in case you get your period at school. If you don't have any products you can also ask your teacher or go down to the nurse.
Blood isn’t the only thing uncomfortable about getting your period. Cramps, back pain, mood swings, temperature swings, bloating, tiredness, and many more symptoms can make it hard to focus at school when on your period, so if you're in too much pain or just really uncomfortable just ask to go down to the nurse and they can help or call home. Lastly, feeling uncomfortable about others knowing you're on your period is totally normal but know that every female born person has either gone through it or will, so there's really no need to hide it but if that's what makes you comfortable you do you!
Now here 5 period tips:
If you have cramps bring a warm bottle of water to put on your stomach
Get on those tampons as soon as possible (they are so much better than pads in my opinion)
Drink lots of water
Take lots of warm baths
Don't wear white pants!!!
