What is Wachapreague Renaissance Inc?

We are a group of local residents with a passion for preserving the unique characteristics of our town while improving its economy (for residents and merchants) , visibility (for visitors) and vitality (for the future).

What kind of an organization is this?

We are currently incorporated in the State of Virignia. We are in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) non-profit status..

How are you organized?

We are organized based upon the National Main Street (America) model. That includes a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, several at-large Directors, and lots of volunteers.  We also invite a member of the Town Council to be a non-voting member. 

How are you funded

We are an all volunteer organization seeking grants, donations and gifts to support our projects. We also run fund-raising activities through out the year.
