Covid-19 Response regarding student transportation:

2021-2022: The present plan is that masks are not required while riding a bus to and from school. Wearing of masks and face shields is voluntary and encouraged for anyone who is hesitant to ride the bus to or from school.

The safety and well being of our students, drivers and monitors is important as we fulfill our role of transporting students in accordance with any existing or ongoing local, state or federal mandates. Changes to our policy will be posted as they are dictated by Spring Hill ISD administration.

NEW RIDERS

If you are a new rider please an email to transdir@shisd.net and provide the following information:

Name, Student Name, Address, The school(s) your student(s) will attend, and whether they will ride AM, PM or both.

If the bus doesn't come by your house or if you have questions or concerns about drop off and pick up

please contact Transportation at 903-323-7729 so that the correct driver can be notified.

We will not be able to allow Primary or Intermediate students to stay on the bus and ride the second afternoon route. Students that cannot be dropped off on the first route will be returned to their campus and will have to be picked up at that location.

Jr High and High School students will NOT be allowed to ride the first bus route with the primary and intermediate students. They will need to wait until the 2nd run.

******************************************IMPORTANT NOTICE*************************************

For our Primary school riders, you must be visible when we drop your child off at the bus stop. The safety of our students is of the utmost priority and the drivers really appreciate seeing an adult at the bus stop, in the yard, or on the porch to welcome the students home from school. Also, we are trying to stay on schedule in order to get the rest of the route completed and return to the campuses to take JH and HS students home in the same timely and efficient manner. Your assistance and cooperation in this manner is greatly appreciated.

BUS TIMES

Primary and Intermediate Buses will leave the Bus Barn about 7:00 AM each morning. They will stop at the Primary school at 7:30 - 7:35, then proceed to the Intermediate School. After unloading at these 2 campuses, they will proceed to the JH and HS route unloading at these campuses between 7:50 and 8:05.

The afternoon routes will pick up at the intermediate at 3:25, then proceed to the primary school. After loading, they run the route, return to the HS and JH to pick up secondary students and run the last route beginning between 4:10 and 4:15.

Discipline:

It is important to remember that riding the bus is a privilege, not a right. It is imperative that students behave in an appropriate manner so that everyone has a safe trip.

Driving a school bus is an extremely demanding and challenging position. Spring Hill ISD drivers understand that we are transporting precious cargo and desire to get your student(s) to school and back home as safely and efficiently as possible.

In order to help achieve this, it is your student(s) responsibility to:

Remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop

Not engage in distracting behaviors such as horseplay, fighting, etc.

Keep the noise level as low as possible so the driver can pay attention to surrounding traffic

Obey the driver and/or bus monitor at all times

Pay attention and be ready when the bus approaches his/her stop

In general, rules which apply in the classroom also apply on the bus, including dress code.

Please remind your student(s) that the rules on the bus are to keep all students safe.

Any discipline issues will be reported to the campus administration for the appropriate action.

Thank you for your help and I look forward to a school year.

GO PANTHERS!!!
