Week 9 Thursday - Those Canaan Days - All boys Rehearsal with Mrs George in MR1 beginning of Lunch

Week 10 - FULL REHEARSAL DAYS MONDAY & TUESDAY

• Wear clothing you can easily move around in (appropriate clothing)

• Go over movement you have done so far

• Bring enough food to keep you going (recess, lunch, snack for after school)

• We will continue AFTER SCHOOL to block more scenes on MONDAY - Tuesday will end at normal school time.

Junior Cast

Rehearsals are back every Wednesday lunch time. Encourage your kids to pay attention to the assembly announcement from Mrs Wright each Wednesday morning to confirm the details for that week. Mr Charleston and Mrs Robson will also be assisting.

Term 4 - Secondary Rehearsals Start Back Up!

Right at the end of Term 3 the government updated their recommendations for the way musical groups can function in schools, relaxing some of the requirements slightly. As a result we are now able to recommence some of our rehearsals as we had them with our updated Joseph Rehearsal Covid Plan in place. Please see details below for each area of the school.

Junior Cast

We are keen to start these back up! The team are discussing how we can recommence these in small groups during some lunchtimes in Term 4. Please stay tuned for further information regarding this at the beginning of Term 4.

Secondary Cast

The secondary cast will recommence rehearsals on Monday 12th October (Week 1 Term 4). Rehearsals will run each week 2:45 - 4:45pm in the school Hall with parents picking up from the front of the school. We will take turns singing and will focus on blocking during this time.

Term 3 - Week 7 onwards

After Dr Chant's recent advice to schools regarding COVID protocols, we have decided to suspend our rehearsals for the rest of term. This is due to the mandate to avoid putting multiple year groups together as well as avoiding group singing. We are hoping to start up again next term but will need to see what shifts are made in the recommendations at that point.

Junior Cast

There will be no Junior Cast rehearsals for the rest of this term. We will see what recommendations are in place at the beginning of next term before making a plan.

Secondary Cast

There will be no Secondary Cast rehearsals for the rest of this term. We will see what recommendations are in place at the beginning of next term before making a plan.

Term 3 - Week 2

We have been considering how we can keep our cast and staff safe during this time. We now have a COVID-19 Plan for all rehearsals moving forward. Here are the details for this week:

Junior Cast

There will be no Junior Cast rehearsals for Week 2. Stay tuned for further information next week.

Secondary Cast

• Monday 2:35 - 4pm meet in school hall to go through some blocking for the performance. This will be the case for the next couple of weeks. You will meet your parents in the front carpark or outside the front of the school at 4pm to go home.

• 1hr at home - work through the new songs placed on our resources site.

Term 3 - Week 1

We have been considering how we can keep our cast and staff safe during this time. We now have a COVID-19 Plan for all rehearsals moving forward. Here are the details for this week:

Junior Cast

Due to more recent shifts with the spread of Covid, we will wait for the next 2 weeks to see how things go and are hoping to resume our lunchtime rehearsals in small groups soon. In the meantime, please continue to practice at home with the excellent videos provided by Mrs Walsham (found in the link above),.

Secondary Cast

We will have a Monday lunchtime meeting in the TLC to discuss what things will look like this term. We will NOT be meeting after school in Week 1.

** SHOW POSTPONED, REHEARSALS ONLINE **

Due to the measures schools have had to take, and considering any additional measures that may occur in the coming weeks, we have had to POSTPONE our whole school production of Joseph for 2020. While we are very disappointed, we want to keep our community safe and comply with government recommendations. The show will now be performed in June 2021.

Since some of the recommendations involve reducing situations where students are in close proximity with one another, we are suspending lunchtime rehearsals for the rest of the term. For our high school cast, we will continue to spend time together remotely on Monday afternoons; this means you will GO HOME after school and LOG ON to Google Classroom around 3:30pm to get information about how to join the rehearsal that day. More information about this will be coming shortly.

WHAT CAN I DO FOR NOW?

You can continue to use the resources found on this website - these will keep being updated.

JUNIOR STUDENTS

We are hoping to post some videos with how to sing more of the songs with the movements over the next little while here. If parents (or older siblings!) are able to help any junior cast members to learn these songs that would be great! Keep an eye out for an email confirming this.

SECONDARY STUDENTS

There will be material posted on here for secondary students to continue to rehearse over the coming weeks as we don't want to lose momentum, especially as we are unsure about when we can properly meet up again. More information will be communicated via our Google Classroom in the coming days. Please keep your script with you (don't leave it at school) and keep learning your songs. We may use an online video conferencing platform to connect up but we are just working out what this might look like for us.

Joseph Callback Information

Please see below for details about the Callbacks for Joseph. If you are unable to make this time, please contact Mrs Breen asap.

Years 7-12 Callbacks

• Tuesday 5th November - 2:45 - 3:45pm (AFTER SCHOOL) in MR1

Year 6 Callbacks

• Tuesday 12th November - period 3 (10 - 10:45) in Secondary Music Rooms

Please come prepared to sing the section of the song allocated to your solo. A piano accompaniment will be provided on the day only.

Term 4 - Week 3

• Callbacks will be announced in Monday High School Assembly and will probably take place in Week 3 or 4

• The show week will be 23 - 26 June 2020.

Auditions will take place next week and will run on the following days:

Students will need to learn the audition song and will be required to sing one section of the song by themselves on the day, chosen by us. They may use the lyrics sheet if they need.
